Kwammie Rocket's Quarantaine Radioshow for NPO Luister

The COVID-19 pandemic feels like a distant memory, yet its impact continues to be felt. Kwammie Rocket’s Quarantaine Radioshow revisits this period through a fictional radio format, carried by the warm voice of Kwammie Rocket and the subtle crackle of vinyl.
This six-episode podcast weaves together personal stories, archival fragments, and music into a layered audio narrative. It brings together voices of people whose lives took unexpected turns during the pandemic, moving between isolation, uncertainty, and new forms of connection.
The radio show functions as a thread that binds the stories, where music, reflection, and storytelling flow into one another. What begins as a reflection on a specific moment in time expands into a broader exploration of themes such as loss, loneliness, and resilience.
For this series, Aminata Soumaré created the audio collages and mix, shaping fragments, voices, and textures into an intimate and immersive listening experience.

COLLAGES
Majesa
Majesa is a spatial audio collage in which the representation of black women in media is questioned. Starting from recurring historical stereotypes like the Mammy, Sapphire and Jezebel, I created a spatial landscape in which different voices go into interaction, opposition and agreement.
The work is designed in 7.1 spatial audio, allowing fragments to move in space and surround the listener.
